Personal development in the care sector
Since October 2006, the Paritätische Akademie has co-ordinated the Leonardo da Vinci project "Comptence profiles for learning supporters in elderly care (ComPro). Together with 18 organisations and institutions from five EU countries, the project aims to develop a competence profile for so-called "learning supporters". In Germany, the function of such learning supporters has been largely unknown and unconsidered so far, but has in many cases already been used for a long time by services, quality managers or executives. Within the project, the learning supporters are trained in personnel and organisational development, in particular to identify educational needs and develop customised educational opportunities close to the workplace.
